On Sunday, October 25th many local businesses joined us in a packed room as we witnessed several presentations from many of Port Alberni's finer businesses. Designed as a learning opportunity we were ecstatic with the quality of each and every presentation. Nine of them plus three from the organizers. Presenters included: Lori Camire - Community Futures, Bill Brown - AV Employment, Bill Collette - AVCOC, Cheryl Iwanowsky - Blue Fish Gallery, Cheryl MacLean - Sun Life Financial, Rob Anderson - Anderson Associates, Kevin Wright - Steampunk Cafe, Jennifer Norn - Jowsey's, Anita Sutherland - Valley Vision, Sarah Jones - Walk the Coast, Rebecca Palmer - Gayle's Fashions & Dan Savard/Bouchra Zouhou - Swept Away Inn.
This was a first time event that went very well and through feedback from the participants will surely grow next year; likely into a full day long program with break out sessions etc.
The Chamber presentation is attached. The focus of it beyond the stats provided of what the Chamber has to offer was really to see if we're thinking half full or half empty. Which are you?
