Community Arts Council of the Alberni Valley

The Community Arts Council of the Alberni Valley is committed to strengthen the Alberni Valley through diverse arts and cultural development, collaboration, and creative community engagement. We achieve this through our many partnerships and affordable and relevant programming for diverse populations.
Join us for our Family Arts Festival, Family Day weekend (February), our annual Book Sale mothers day weekend (May) and our Harbour Quay Light-Up in November.

The Arts Council recently relocated to the Chamber of Commerce Visitor Centre.

The Community Arts Council of the Alberni Valley

Community Arts Council of the Alberni Valley

The Community Arts Council of the Alberni Valley was founded in 1965 and incorporated as a non-profit society in 1971. In 1977, the Community Arts Council moved in to the historical site of the Rollin Art Centre. In 2022, the Community Arts Council moved to the Harbour Quay, TO operate the Grove Gallery and Gift Shop. In 2025, the Grove Gallery was closed indefinitely, and the Alberni Arts Council now operates from the Visitor Centre.

The Community Arts Council of the Alberni Valley and Grove Gallery exists to enhance the quality of life in our community by promoting the arts. This is accomplished through:

  • Arts Education and Information
  • Provision & support of quality programming services and events in all facets of the arts
  • Participation in the preservation, planning and development of cultural facilities and institutions
  • Contributing to the development of cultural policies at the local, regional, provincial and national levels
