Alberni Valley Chamber of Commerce and Alberni Valley Transition Town Society to Host 2025 Federal Election All Candidates Meeting

PORT ALBERNI, BC – The Alberni Valley Chamber of Commerce and Alberni Valley Transition Town Society invite residents and media to attend an All Candidates Meeting on Tuesday, April 15, 2025. This important non-partisan community event offers voters an opportunity to hear directly from local candidates running in the upcoming federal election scheduled for Monday, April 28, 2025.

The event will be moderated by Mike Youds and David Wiwchar, with candidates responding to a series of questions on topics that matter to the Alberni Valley community. Questions will be collected in advance with input from both the business community and the public.

Event Details
When: Tuesday, April 15, 2025 | Doors open at 6:00 PM | Event begins at 6:30 PM
Where: RimRock Casino, 4890 Cherry Creek Rd, Port Alberni, BC
Who: Open to all members of the public

Confirmed Candidates:

  • Liberal Party of Canada – Brian Cameron
  • People’s Party of Canada – Thomas Gamble
  • New Democratic Party – Gord Johns
  • Animal Protection Party of Canada – Teresa Knight
  • Green Party of Canada – Chris Markevich
  • Christian Heritage Party of Canada – Jesse Musial

Declined:

  • Conservative Party of Canada – Kris McNichol

All registered candidates were invited to participate, and space remains available should any candidates choose to join closer to the event date.

This event is part of the Chamber’s continued commitment to connecting the community, fostering informed civic engagement, and ensuring the voices of both businesses and residents are heard.
